Position Overview: The Showroom and ProShop Sales Specialist is responsible for managing sales and customer interactions within both the showroom and the ProShop. This role involves assisting flooring and general contractors, investors, builders, and homeowners in selecting and purchasing materials for their projects, as well as selling specialty flooring accessories and materials to contractors. The specialist is also tasked with maintaining an organized and attractive showroom and ProShop, updating pricing on sample boards, and ensuring that all sales transactions are handled smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and knowledgeable about flooring products, materials, and accessories.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Customer Service:
Assist contractors, builders, homeowners, and investors in selecting flooring materials and specialty flooring accessories in both the showroom and the proshop.
Use the CRM system to manage customer accounts, track interactions, and ensure seamless follow-up on all sales inquiries.
Provide expert advice on product and accessory selection, ensuring that customers find the best solutions to meet their needs and budget.
Showroom and Proshop Maintenance:
Keep the showroom and proshop neat, organized, and visually appealing.
Ensure all product and accessory displays are up-to-date, properly labeled, and stocked with current samples.
Regularly update pricing on sample boards and product displays to reflect current market rates.
Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels of both flooring materials and specialty accessories, coordinating with the inventory team to reorder products as needed.
Organize and maintain product and accessory samples, ensuring they are readily available for customer viewing.
Conduct regular checks to ensure the accuracy of inventory records and sample availability.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and other key clients, providing personalized service and support in both the showroom and the proshop.
Follow up on customer inquiries and provide timely updates on order status, delivery times, and product availability.
Manage and update customer profiles in the CRM, ensuring accurate records of past purchases, preferences, and communication history.
Sales Reporting and Analysis:
Track and report on daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance in both the showroom and the proshop, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling products and accessories.
Provide insights to management on customer preferences, product performance, and market trends.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the outside sales team to coordinate efforts and ensure a seamless customer experience across the showroom and proshop.
Collaborate with the marketing team to support showroom and proshop events, promotions, and new product launches.
Participate in regular team meetings to share insights, discuss challenges, and contribute to overall sales strategy.
Professional Development:
Stay informed about the latest products, materials, accessories, and trends in the flooring industry.
Attend training sessions, workshops, and trade shows to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve customer service and showroom/proshop management techniques.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, sales, or a related field is a plus.
2+ years of experience in retail sales, showroom management, or a related role, preferably in the flooring or home improvement industry.
Proficiency in using CRM systems.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of flooring products, materials, and accessories is preferred.
Work Environment: This position is based in both the showroom and the proshop, with regular interaction with customers and other team members. The Showroom and Proshop Sales Specialist will be required to stand for extended periods and may need to lift or move product and accessory samples as part of their daily duties.
